Julie C. Round was born in 1942 in Slough, and educated in Ealing, Middlesex. After training as a Junior School teacher at Balls Park College in Herts, she worked in London, Farnborough and Gillingham, in Kent, before moving to Sevenoaks, as a result of which, she had to relinquish her position as a Kent Liberal County Councillor. After retraining as a tutor of dyslexics, she worked for a while as a private tutor and with pupils with learning difficulties in Bromley. Julie is married to Ben and they have two sons and a grandson. Since retiring to Worthing, she has written novels, the first being Lane’s End, the story of a learning disabled man who has to find his own way in the world when his sole carer, his mother, dies. Lane’s End was followed by Un-Stable Lane, about her character’s family and the problems that can occur when people cannot cope with differences. Julie’s final book of the trilogy, The Third Lane, was launched at Worthing Leisure Centre on 1 February, 2011 and is already getting good reviews. A teenage girl has to cope with disappointment while her family follow their own disparate paths. This book keeps the reader guessing until the very end. For more information, see Julie’s website, which she had designed specifically to help her promote her books, as they are all self-published. In the future, Julie plans to expand upon talks she has given to groups in her local area, which cover a number of areas. At present, she doesn’t charge for her talks - instead, she asks for donations for Ferring Country Centre, or the Worthing Alzheimer’s Society. Julie’s books can be ordered direct from her, post free, by phoning 0798 123 9017 or from Amazon.   JULIE C ROUND HOME HISTORY COUNCIL MEMBERS MEMBER PROFILES MEMBER NEWS SOCIETY NEWS NATIONAL EVENTS COMPETITIONS REGIONAL GROUPS REGIONAL EVENTS OVERSEAS SECTION MEMBERSHIP FEES JOINING CRITIQUES WELFARE LINKS Back to Member Index
