Margaret Mounsdon has always
written, but only with any
success after The Millennium
when she officially retired. Her
varied career spanned thirty five
years. She started off as
secretary to a barrister in
London, then moved on to
Switzerland and Brussels,
where she honed her knowledge
of the French language, before
returning to England to work as
a Customer Relations Officer at
Gatwick Airport. She finally
ended her working days in a
nursing home for the elderly, as
a receptionist and secretary to
the matron, not a resident she
hastens to add.
All her career moves proved a fertile ground for her vivid imagination
and her short stories have been published in Woman’s Weekly, My
Weekly, People’s Friend and The Lady. She has also been published in
Norway, Sweden, New Zealand and Australia. Margaret has also won
and been placed in numerous short story competitions.
She has also had two novels published by the now defunct Heartline
Books, entitled Never Say Goodbye and The Peacock House under the
name of Clare Tyler. My Weekly Pocket Novels published The Mimosa
Summer and Long Shadows. People’s Friend Story Collection
published The Italian Lake, and all these novellas have gone into
Large Print.
Several more novellas are in the pipeline and details are published on
her regularly updated website
Besides being a member of the SWWJ, Margaret is also a member of
the West Sussex Writers and The Romantic Novelists’ Association,
where she is also featured as one of their writers on their website.
